Can we duplicate this ...

That is the question I asked my mother-in-law (before they came to see us for Labor Day) when I saw this treat basket in the Pottery Barn catalog. I think it is so cute.
Well, let me back up for a moment. Halloween was never a huge thing for my family growing up but for some reason when JD and I got married, I looked forward to it. The 1st year (we were living at 15 East Dr) I thought we would at least have a few. I got the candy and put it in a basket and no one ever came-I was devastated. So, now that we have moved into a HUGE neighborhood, my neighbors have told me that Halloween is crazy. And that our neighborhood is the place to be. So I am so excited.
Back to the story of the basket. I wanted to have something cute to put all of my candy in to pass out to the kids. But Pottery Barn wanted $25 for the basket, $15 for the liner, plus a fee to monogram it, plus the shipping fee. So it would have been like $60. So when I asked my mother-in-law if we could duplicate it, she said yes!!! yay! They came up to see us for Labor Day and we did. We paid $12 for the basket, $1.87 for the fabric, and my MIL brought her monogramming machine so that was free. We came out way cheaper :) Here is the finished product ...

Thanks again Mrs. Gayla for your help. I love it.
