On Friday, August 27th we headed to Dothan, Al to visit friends and family before going to the beach. We had a great time visiting with my parents (Thanks mom and dad for having us, allowing our children to destroy your house and cooking for us!) and some great friends.
The drive was A-W-F-U-L! John David was post call with 15 minutes of sleep and Evie screamed almost the entire drive which is 6 hours. So to say that John David and I needed some time out with friends is an understatement. Saturday night we headed out while my parents kept the kiddos and went to the Yard Party for Art in Dothan. I decided that it is basically a fraternity band party for adults. We had a great time and below are some pictures from that night. We went with Josh, Jess, Kole, and Ashley! It was so fun. Before we left on Monday, we ate with Josh and Jess again to say our final goodbyes.

On Monday we left Dothan and drove 2 hours to Water Sound Beach. For those of you familiar with Florida, it is around Seagrove, Seaside area. It was awesome. My great in-laws rented a condo for all of us for the week. The condo came with a round of golf each day for John David, a golf cart to drive down the boardwalks to the beach, bikes, and so much more. John David said it was the perfect vacation. We enjoyed great weather (not too hot with a great breeze), awesome seafood, and quality family time. Evie did great with the beach and it was so helpful to have my in-laws there to help with her and Jeremiah. Jeremiah had the time of his life. He is SPOILED ROTTEN! He rode on the bikes with John David and Mr. John, swam in the pool, played in the sand, rode on the golf cart and did pretty much what ever he wanted for the week. So you can guess that I am now re-training!
And as for the drive from Florida to South Carolina, the kids did great. Evie was sooo much better. We are home now and getting ready to start a busy fall. Jeremiah begins mother's morning out tomorrow, my women's bible study kicks off next week and as for John David: an awful call schedule and a conference that will take him away from us for 5 days. :(
Enjoy the pictures!

Loved the pics! I really like the one of the 4 of you walking down the boardwalk. It reminds me of a wedding day pic with kids in tow. I'm so glad you guys enjoyed your time away. I know it was refreshing for all of you!
