We kicked off our fun old fashion family Christmas by heading out into the country in the old front-wheel drive sleigh to embrace the frosty majesty of the winter landscape and select that most important of Christmas symbols.
We went to a local Christmas tree farm, picked out our tree and cut it down!
John David could spend hours upon hours looking at ALL the trees to make sure we get the perfect one. However, with 2 kids, I wasn't really thrilled about that idea this year. He did look around a bit and we decided to go with a cypress tree. It is a first for our family, but we fell in love with the shape.

Jeremiah was equally excited as his daddy was and helped with the process.

And you can imagine how thrilled John David was to cut the tree down with this hand saw compared to a chain saw!

And as Jeremiah and John David cut down our tree, Evie hung out with her Sonny!

And since it took daddy a while to cut the tree down (Sorry babe-we love you) we decided to take some more pictures.

And while they loaded our tree to the top of the car, we took one last picture!

How fun! I was waiting to see the tree on top of the car - all griswolded up! I love Evie's little hoodie. I'm a sucker for those little puff balls on the end. Can't wait to see it all decorated. I'm sure its beautiful and smells amazing!
