8 Years And So Happy

There is a lot I haven't blogged about the past couple of months! We matched in a fellowship, Evie turned 3, John Martin turned 4 months and then 5 months, and the list goes on and on.
But as I texted with a friend tonight telling her that tomorrow was mine and JD's 8 year anniversary, I started thinking about how we started dating in 2000 and got married in 2005.
We celebrate 8 years tomorrow and I am happier today than I was 13 years ago! These have been the best 8 years of my life.
I love you so much John David. You are an amazing husband and father and I look forward to many more years together!

Even though the month is not over yet, I wanted to share with you what we have been doing! Gigi came into town the beginning of the month and while she was here I got away and cut 7 inches off my hair! Gigi came to help out while John David had a long stretch of interviews and call nights! Thank you so much!


This little guy turned 2 months old. He started smiling and cooing. He really enjoys cooing and smiling with Evie and Jeremiah. I took him for his 2 month appointment. He weighs 13 lb 5.5 oz which is the 47% and is 24.75 in long which is the 99%. He is happy and healthy. He currently sleeps 7-8 hours at nights and is taking 3 naps a day and cat naps between 5:00-7:00. He usually goes to bed around 7:30 with a dreamfeed at 10pm.


We celebrated Valentine's Day! Unfortunately, John David was on his LAST interview. So we spent Valentine's Day with my parents. They came up to spend the weekend with us while John David was in Reno. Thankfully, he is done with fellowship interviews and we find out March 12th where we will be moving the summer of 2014.





Last weekend we had our first snow of the winter. The kids enjoyed watching it snow, but we really didn't get out and play in it.

                                             




I am already looking forward to the Spring. Greenville usually has an amazing Spring season and the kids and I are looking forward to consistently being outside!

The Day We Became A Family of 5

I feel the need to post all of these amazing pictures. Even though tomorrow marks 10 weeks I want to share these with y'all. John David and I are so thankful to have 3 healthy children!

 Even though I HATE this picture of me... I had to include it. My best friend, Jess, came just for the birth. And because he took forever to come out, she actually made it! She was here for about 24 hours and words cannot express how truly thankful I am that she made the trip up! I know it was a sacrifice for her to leave her 2 little ones behind and I am truly grateful. I love you Jess! Not to mention, I have a lot of pictures thanks to her!

John Martin Adams

I cannot believe it has been 7 weeks since John Martin was born! And even more shocking, I haven't had a moment to blog about it. Our house has been even busier than I thought and I have hardly had a moment to myself. So instead of blogging, I have chosen to take a nap or take a shower! :) But for those who are still checking my blog, here is John Martin's birth story!

I went into the doctor for my 39 week appointment on Monday, December 10th. I mentioned to the Dr. that I felt like John Martin's movement had slowed down significantly! She measured my belly and it was measuring small (which it had been for the last few weeks!) She decided to get an ultrasound and check out some things! During the ultrasound, the tech was unable to record any movement and she also couldn't see him practice breathing. So, when I spoke with the doctor she told me that she couldn't let me go home and that she was sending me straight to labor and delivery. She said they would monitor me and John Martin and that if need be take me to c section!
At the time, Jeremiah was at school and Evie was with me. John David was in the OR starting a case and he quickly scrubbed out and met me at the Dr. One of our best friends, Jenny, came and picked up Evie and went and got Jeremiah from school and took them both home! I am so thankful that Jenny and John David were available to help so quickly! I was a nervous wreck and just unable to hold myself together.
I was admitted and they began monitoring John Martin. After 3-4 hours of being monitored, they determined that he seemed to be doing fine, but that given the circumstances, it was better to go ahead and induce me and get John Martin delivered!
Cervidil was started Monday night and pitocin was started early Tuesday morning. I was thinking that with this being my 3rd child, labor would be quick. I was wrong! Pitocin was started at 6:30 and John Martin came at 9:20 pm!!! It was a very long day filled with a few bumps! John Martin's heartbeat dropped all throughout my labor and I also struggled a few times with my blood pressure dropping due to the epidural!
When I finally reached 10 cm at 9:00, I was so relieved to be almost at the end! When John Martin came out, the umbilical cord was wrapped around his neck two times! I was so thankful that the Lord had sustained John Martin and that I delivered a healthy baby boy!He is such a sweet baby!

This was taken just moments after he was born! He weighed 6 lb 9 oz and was 20 1/4 inches long!

Thanksgiving 2012

We had a great Thanksgiving Holiday! John David was off for 4 days and the children and I enjoyed him being home every moment!
John David's parents (Sonny and Gigi) spent Thanksgiving with us. We fried a turkey and had all kinds of yummy veggies to go with it! Jenny and Scotty joined us for lunch on Thursday and between them and us, we had more food than we could eat!

Our family picture below was taken during a cooking break and I had the kids put on their hats they made at school!



Evie enjoyed some one on one time with Sonny while he cooked the turkey!


John David in his turkey coma! He blamed it on the tryptophan that is in the turkey. Hilarious!



And besides eating lots of food for 4 days, we decorated our house for Christmas. I have to brag on my husband here... for 7 years now he has been putting up with my crazy obsession with Christmas. I love to decorate the house and have tons of boxes of Christmas decorations. He helps me each year and never complains. And this year was no exception. In fact, with me being 37 weeks pregnant, he had to decorate more than usual.

So, with Thanksgiving behind us, we are in full baby countdown. Only 3 weeks til my due date and we are all hoping John Martin arrives early!

All Things Fall!

October was a fun month for our growing family as we had several activities that the children enjoyed and that tired their mother out!!!
First, Jeremiah's class field trip to a local pumpkin patch!
Evie and I tagged along and it proved to be a lot of fun! The kids enjoyed a hayride...

After the hayride, the kids traveled through a corn maze and a bat cave! (Not real bats of course!) They enjoyed a few other activities before picking out their pumpkins to take home.

To end a great morning, all the kids enjoyed a snack and some playtime! A couple of more pics before heading home...

Next thing... Boo in the Zoo. This is a great event the zoo has hosted for years where the kids dress up in their costumes and trick or treat around the zoo. Gigi was here when we took the kids and the kids had so much fun!

And last but not least, Halloween! Our little Batman and Ballerina had a great time running through the streets collecting as much candy as possible. Evie out lasted us all. After an hour and a half, she was still saying "more houses!" The girl knows what she wants! And she made her aunt jenny go to all of those houses with her!

Recap accomplished! The kids had a great month and are looking forward to Thanksgiving, the arrival of John Martin, and Christmas.
