Bedtime rituals

So for little Evie, I have stopped swaddling her as of a few nights ago! She is doing really well. She was having such a hard time sleeping all night without waking that my best friend, Jess, and I thought the swaddle maybe the problem. So I ditched the swaddle and she has been sleeping better. Hopefully, that was the answer! And since she won't take a paci or suck her thumb, I decided to buy her a little gift to help her sleep: a pink lovie. She loves it. Evie puts it right over her face and falls asleep. Most of the time when I check on her she is sleeping with it right next to her face.

And for Jeremiah, we read him a book each night before he goes to bed. We let him go to the bookshelf and pick out a book but he always picks out the same one:

In fact, as soon as we start putting on his pajamas, he starts asking for "race cars." And he is sitting right next to me as I type this and he saw the picture of the book and is saying over and over again "race cars, race cars!"
John David puts him to bed most nights and so he is usually the one reading this book over, and over, and over. He says that he almost has it memorized!
Both kiddos go to bed between 7:30 and 8. And due to the time change, have been waking up way too early! Jeremiah has been getting up around 5:45-6 and Evie is doing good with sleeping til 7 or 7:30 most mornings!

I miss these sweet pretty babies soooo much-- and you and John David as well. Can't wait to see pink lovie. Will be soaking John David's Christening gown this week to get it ready for sweet Evie--she will be so beautiful in it. enjoying all the posts.

I'm so glad she's doing better. We're both so funny with changing things...its scary but it usually works out for the best, doesn't it? You just have to remind me of that and I'll do the same for you. Love those precious babies - and they will ALWAYS be babies to me...even when I'm at their college graduation and weddings.
