Soccer...

Our first organized sport. If I'm being honest, the practices and games haven't always gone the way I thought they would! There are times where Jeremiah doesn't want to play, he wants a snack, he says his legs hurt and that he is tired! And with John David and I being a little on the competitive side, this has been hard. So hard that after his game a couple of weeks ago, we had to give each other a pep talk. Let me clarify, we didn't give Jeremiah a pep talk, we had to give EACH OTHER a pep talk.
It went something like this, "He is only four. This is his first organized sport. He may not love soccer, but he may love t-ball or golf! Or he may not love sports at all... big breath!!!!"
We are so crazy! Sports were a big part of our entire lives and so thinking that Jeremiah may not love sports is hard. BUT then again he is FOUR and this is his FIRST time ever playing anything!!! I think it is a little too early to decide if he is going to love sports or not.
Last week, he had his greatest performance yet! He actually wanted to play in the game. He was running, chasing the ball, he kicked it a few times, and only wanted to stop playing long enough to get water. It was great! I think he may have even pushed a kid once! Ha-ha!

So, here are some pictures of our little boy playing his first game.

A little warm up run...
 Stretching...

This picture is daddy giving Jeremiah a pep talk. Notice the goldfish. This is in the middle of the game, he was tired and wanted a snack. John David is persuading him to go back in and play!

Jeremiah, # 9, has 3 more games to finish the season. We will have a few weeks off and then t-ball starts!

I am cracking up thinking of you and JD giving one another the pep talk! You are so funny! And yes, it is so hard to think that your children may not love what you love!!!

Haha. Laughing over here about you and J.D. giving pep talks to each other. Lee and I would be the same way. If it helps, I have heard other people say that their experience with the first organized sport was a little less than painful, so I think ya'll are doing great!!! Between the 2 of you, I am sure he will find a sport that he loves!

Garrison is the same way! He is playing t ball now and to be honest, I will be glad when it is over! Sometimes he loves it, and other times he is just there for the snacks ;) Jeremiah sure looks cute out there though!
