Random, I know! But in the last week, all of the above has happened!
First, we got the opportunity to go to Sugar Mountain in North Carolina and go skiing. We went with other ortho residents and their significant others. We were the only couple with children so needless to say we didn't get much rest. Those of you with kids know what I'm talking about. When you go on a trip or vacation, you want SLEEP! Well, that is not how the folks without children think! We were up late both nights and came home so tired. But, we had a great time.
And to our surprise, the skiing was pretty good!
Second, sitters. While we were having a blast with friends, my mom and aunt came into town to watch the kiddos! THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU to my mom and Aunt Lori for giving up a weekend to drive 6 hours to keep 2 wild children. Jeremiah and Evie did great for them and I think they too were exhausted after the weekend.
We also had another "sitter" come on Sunday. Gigi came to help with the kids while JD and I searched for a new house. And we are so glad she did b/c we searched all day Monday and were able to put in an offer that night! So a big THANK YOU to Gigi for helping us out with the kids.
Lastly, our house sold! What??? It is crazy. We finalized a contract last Wednesday and the house search began the next day. The Lord has shown Himself in mighty ways during this time. We put our house on the market in August after praying about it all summer. For those of you who don't know, JD has a 20-25 min. drive to work (one way) every day. The drive was really starting to wear on him so we decided to put our house up for sale. We have only lived here a year and a half plus as you know the market isn't great so we were very nervous about the house selling. We have been specifically praying that it would sell and we could move before April. Well, the Lord indeed answered our prayer in selling the house and we will move the end of this month! We got a contract on our new house on Tuesday. We close on Feb. 28th.
I am very sad about leaving our neighbors here. The Lord blessed us with great neighbors/friends not only for Jd and I but also for the children. We are going to miss them so much.
Another prayer that the Lord answered is finding community in our new neighborhood. I just found out yesterday that several families from our church live in the neighborhood we are moving to and there is a community group in that neighborhood! How awesome is that? And this neighborhood has a pool just like our current one does. I am so excited about this because I was really going to miss the pool! :)
I know you all want to see pictures and I will post some just as soon as we move!
More to come on Evie's well visit check-up from yesterday!

im so sad. like literally SO SO SO sad! very happy for yall and that the Lord answered your prayers. but, selfishly i want you here. :( promise me we will remain buddies and let our kiddos play. love you, neighbor!!
We are so sad to see y'all go but know that it will be a whole lot easier for all of you with JD working that close to home. Hopefully, you will get to see him a little bit more and he'll be more refreshed :) What neighborhood are you moving to? I noticed that you said there was a pool and just wondered where that was?
