We definitely have been dancing to the tune of "You pee-peed on the potty!" And if you don't dance, Jeremiah will tell you to.
Our big boy has been doing well with #1. He is going like a champ and hasn't had a pee accident in a while.
#2 is a whole other story. The day after we completed the 3 day potty training, it began. The fear and anxiety of going #2 in the potty! We had many accidents from last friday until just a couple of days ago. It seriously was a low point for our family! He struggled with it for a good week. He didn't want to go on the potty, but he also didn't want to go in his underwear. The actual poop itself grosses him out beyond words! We are not 100% yet, but he also hasn't had an accident since Thursday. It is still a struggle and he holds it so long that his stomach hurts. So, any advice would be great! He is definitely sitting on the potty and trying to go, but that is about it.
But while we have our struggles with that, we also have very high points. For the first time on Friday, he went #1 two different times while we were at lunch in the big potty! That was a huge milestone and I was in shock that he did it. Also, he has woken up from his nap the past 5 days dry and 2 nights ago he woke up dry that morning!
So, as you can see he is doing well. To answer a lot of people's question of: "Was he completely potty-trained after the 3 days?" The answer is no. But it definitely got us on the right track and I learned a lot from the 3 day method that Lora Jensen offers.
I would recommend the 3 day potty training method, but I would say this: Don't make the mistake that I did and believe that after 3 days your child would magically have it! They may or may not. I think that is the mistake I made because once we started the #2 struggle, I was devastated. But we have learned a lot and are continuing to learn. a lot.
